Tyla Stuns On The Late Show With Stephen Colbert
Grammy Award winner Tyla went on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert to promote her new self-titled album and perform her single ART.
On March 7, the South African singer announced she was canceling her tour and, consequently, her Coachella performance, which would have been later this week on Friday and April 19. The reason for the cancellation was a knee injury she had been dealing with for almost a year.
During her performance at The Late Show, Tyla focused on her vocals since she couldn’t dance due to her injury. However, her inability to dance didn’t dim her performance. Besides focusing on her vocals, the performance displayed her stunning style with a distressed red two-piece set, astounding back dancers, and Tyla’s incredible stage presence.

“Just know when I’m back to performing pain free, I’m gonna be even more of a problem,” she expressed in her post on Instagram announcing she was canceling her tour.
Her debut album, Tyla, was released on March 1, just six days before announcing her injuries. Due to that, the promotions for her album are way calmer than a usual album promotion tour. Also, the album features Becky G and Tems.

In addition, the singer preformed the same day he had congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez on.
Furthermore, Tyla brings a fresh style to the American music scene, not only with her clothing but also with her dance styles and music influences. Tyla is pointed out as the next-it girl and a new pop icon.

Even though ART is the official single of the album, getting live performances and a music video, the song “Jump” with Skillibeng and Gunna as features went viral on TikTok, specially because of two dances created by @oh.its.phoebe and the other by @zoebaptistee. On top of that, many famous people did the dances, including Charli D’Amelio, K-pop idols BM and Somin from Kard, Paige Taylor, and even Tyla herself.
