Pam Grier States Cardi B Is Teaching Her Pole Dancing for New Film
Pam Grier recently shared in an interview with Andy Cohen that Cardi B was teaching her pole dancing for the new film they are starring in together.
“I really wanted to work with [Cardi] and it could be in maybe two years at the theater because I’m now learning how to pole dance and it’s taken a minute, but it’s a lot of fun,” the 74-year-old actress stated during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen.
Grier first revealed that she was working on a project for herself and the rapper in 2022 during an interview with Rolling Stone. She also expressed her love for the single, “WAP” by Cardi B, featuring Megan Thee Stallion. Now Grier seems to be working on the project but is keeping most of the details to herself. “It’s a wonderful story. I don’t wanna give it away, but it’s perfect for her because she’s a great mom,” she expressed.
Cohen asked Grier if the film was about a “pole dancer, mom with a heart of god.” In response, she explained, “I’m the pole dancer and she teaches me alright.”
The North Carolina native has starred in over 40 movies throughout her career. Her first film role was in Beyond the Valley of the Dolls in 1970. She is currently working on her biopic series based on her memoir, Foxy: My Life in Three Acts.
The unnamed film will add to Cardi’s growing list of film features. The 31-year-old musician made her debut in Hustlers, starring Jennifer Lopez and Constance Wu. The “I Like It” rapper stars as the stripper, Diamond in the 2019 film. However, she was unable to properly relive her stripper days due to healing from her surgeries.
“I was really mad because when I did the movie, I just got my tits done and I got lipo, right? So I was like, ‘This is my moment to shine,’ and I can’t shine cause I can’t climb,” the Grammy-award-winning rapper explained to Entertainment Tonight in 2019.
We can’t wait to learn more about the film that Grier and Cardi are working on. While waiting for Cardi B’s new film, you can watch Hustlers on Hulu. You can also learn more about Pam Grier’s memoir here.
