Recently, Anne Hathaway reassured fans that she is actively progressing with work on The Princess Diaries 3, which is still in development, and she remains intent on getting the film off the ground.
It has been over a year since Disney initially surfaced the exciting news about progressing with the production of The Princess Diaries 3.
While Hathaway cannot disclose specific information, she aims to reassure her loyal fans through the latest V Magazine interview that the sequel they have eagerly anticipated is still in progress.

Disney excited fans by revealing plans for a third feature installment in the beloved franchise. The highly-anticipated sequel is currently in development, with the talented Aadrita Mukerji, known for her work on Supergirl, set to bring the story to life.
Additionally, industry veteran Debra Martin Chase will take on the producer role, while the accomplished The Other Woman screenwriter Melissa Stack will executive produce the project.
The upcoming third installment of the film series will carry on the story from the original films released in 2001 and 2004, featuring performances by talented actresses Hathaway and Julie Andrews.
Despite the exciting prospect of a sequel, no official announcements have been made regarding the return of either actress to their iconic roles. Fans eagerly await updates on the cast, hoping for the beloved stars to reprise their respective characters in the highly anticipated third movie.
In December 2022, Andrews saddened fans with unfortunate news during an interview with Access Hollywood when she expressed doubts about returning to the cherished Disney franchise, indicating a slim possibility of reprising her role; she candidly remarked, “I think we know that’s probably not going to be possible.”
In October 2022, Hathaway told Entertainment Tonight, “If there’s any way to get Julie Andrews involved, I think we would make it work. We would go to where she was and put a green screen behind her and just make it happen.”
