Fear Street: Prom Queen First Look at the Film
The Netflix horror trilogy, Fear Street based on R. L. Stine’s widely loved novel series, returns with Fear Street: Prom Queen.
To get fans excited about the newest addition to the series, which still has no release date, Netflix unveiled a first-look video. Also, the original trilogy was released back to back in consecutive weeks in 2021.
In January, Stine revealed another one of his books from the franchise was getting adapted by Netflix. Later in March, Netflix announced part of the cast, which, from what we know, doesn’t include any of the original actors.

Moreover, the official Netflix summary states, “prom season at Shadyside High is underway and the school’s wolfpack of It Girls is busy with its usual sweet and vicious campaigns for the crown. But when a gutsy outsider is unexpectedly nominated to the court, and the other girls start mysteriously disappearing, the class of ’88 is suddenly in for one hell of a prom night.”
Although the previous two films in the trilogy had the same director, Leigh Janiak, this one is directed by Matt Palmer, who also co-wrote it with Donald McLeary. In addition, the cast includes Lili Taylor, India Fowler, Suzanna Son, Fina Strazza, David Iacono, and Ella Rubin.

Furthermore, the cast includes Ariana Greenblatt (Barbie, Infinity War), Katherine Waterson (The Fantastic Beasts Trilogy), and Chris Klein (the American Pie films.)
Like many other horror film series, Fear Street has developed a large fanbase. A big reason for this is the LGBTQ+ representation, specifically the lesbian/sapphic representation between the two main characters of the trilogy portrayed by Kiana Madeira and Olivia Scott Welch. On top of that, the cast is very diverse and includes new actors and some already known, like Sadie Sink, Emily Rudd, and Maya Hawke.

With the addition of a new film to the series, Netflix demonstrates that they are open to continue adapting other books from Stine’s franchise. Fans pointed out that, with more films, the Fear Street series can potentially become a cult classic of this generation.
