Vanity Fair presented Ayo Edebiri as its June cover Star on May 21. The magazine published breathtaking photos of the award-winning actress that pair perfectly with the insightful feature story.

Edebiri has been booked and busy. She swept this past awards season, hosted an episode of SNL, is the star of the recently renewed FX series The Bear, and has future acting projects in the works. In her latest endeavor, she took center stage on Vanity Fair’s June cover shoot.

The photographer for this shoot is Renell Medrano, a New York City native passionate about seeking change in her community and culture. The photographer has shot campaigns for The New York Times, Vogue, and Interview—her established reputation and artistic eye excited fans for the collaboration.

Stella Greenspan styled the actress in designer garments and jewelry made by Dior, Marc Jacobs, Chanel Haute Couture, Loewe, Cartier, Giambattista Valli Haute Couture, Retrouvaí, Christopher John Rogers, Isabel Marant, Max Mara, Van Cleef & Arpels, and Xuly Bët.

The combination of the photography and styling captured the essence of Ayo’s beauty; the star looks stunning in every shot. The feature article written by Leah Faye Cooper captured Ayo’s charming humor and authenticity.

The writer recounts Edebiri’s humble beginnings of working as a barista and performing stand-up comedy acts while studying dramatic writing at NYU. The actress discusses her dynamic with her The Bear co-star Jermy Allen White, the series’s astonishing Emmy win streak, and the general success of the dark comedy.

The Vanity Fair writer states, “Days after our interview, I find a selfie of Edebiri making a ridiculous face on my phone. I have no memory of her snapping it.” Even off-screen, the actress still has an eccentric and amusing personality.

Alongside the cover shoot and feature article, the award-winning actress filmed a hilarious video for Vanity Fair’s YouTube channel. In a segment titled “Vanity Fair and Square,” she roleplays as a judge and helps real people resolve their dramatic disputes.

The actress debriefed issues ranged from a couple’s fight over a Drake concert to someone’s father stealing a stranger’s room-service french fry. The actress’s personality shines through her witty commentary in her hearings of these ridiculous dramas.
