South African singer Tyla announced a music video for “Jump,” a song from her self-titled debut album that came out in March, via Instagram.

While the video has only been out for a few days, fans are already jumping all over this new video.

Other fans have appreciated the vibrant color scheme that gives a 2000s feel, which seems to be a Tyla signature.

The music video starts with Tyla in the backseat of a car as she sings “I don’t touch no wheel ’cause I got a chauffeur.” The video was filmed in Johannesburg and directed by Nabil. In one scene, we see Tyla stop traffic with a street party while simultaneously twerking on a bus that has her face plastered all over it.

Later in the video, we see Tyla go to the club with Gunna. While he sings his verse, the party is in full swing and everyone is jumping to the beat. She has proven that the party doesn’t stop until she wants it to even when a brawl breaks out, she still tells everyone to jump

The “Jump” music video was released three months after Tyla received her first Grammy for Best African Music Performance. Moreover, this Grammy win made her the youngest African artist to receive that award.

While creating “Jump,” Tyla told People “It was kind of different to what I’m used to doing, so it was a cool detour, but I felt like it needed a rapper on it to really take it there.” She felt that Gunna was a solid choice because of his interest in African music.

During April, “Jump” had an impressive run on the TikTok Billboard Top 50, where it peaked at number 11. The track was produced by Sammy Soso and it quickly became a TikTok hit with the line, “They never had a pretty girl for Joburg/ See me now and that’s what they prefer.”
