The Fall Guy, starring Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt, has debuted earlier than expected on digital platforms, a welcome surprise for fans of these two A-listers.

This raucous, action-packed comedy follows stuntman Colt Seavers (Gosling) as he grapples with finding a missing film star, solving a conspiracy, and other adventures, including trying to win back his ex-girlfriend (Blunt).

Directed by former stuntman David Leitch, this film honors the often-overlooked profession while showcasing it with outlandish stunts and car chases, promising to amaze viewers in theaters and at home. Leitch has habitually celebrated the importance of stunt work with other action-forward gems like Deadpool 2 and Bullet Train. Nothing new for Gosling, who has done some stunt work in the past, such as in 2022’s The Gray Man, according to Netflix. He’s also no stranger to outspoken fans, many of whom have taken to social media to praise the new movie.

Or, more specifically, to praise Gosling’s affable role.

Both starring actors are in high demand following their respective Oscar nominations for Barbie and Oppenheimer, some of last year’s most highly anticipated flicks. Those projects couldn’t have been more different, so this light-hearted film fully displays Gosling’s and Blunt’s impressive range. With the positive reception The Fall Guy is getting, their success shows no signs of slowing down.

The Fall Guy truly lacks for nothing in the casting department, featuring Aaron Taylor-Johnson, the stuntman directed in Bullet Train, and Hannah Waddingham of Ted Lasso. Also in attendance are Stephanie Hsu from Everything Everywhere All At Once and Winston Duke, who portrayed M’Baku in Black Panther

The Fall Guy’s X account revealed that Universal Pictures has also released an extended cut, featuring a 20-minute deleted scene.

The extended cut is now available to watch at home, and as fans are already raving, we can’t wait to hear what else they have to say. Prefer to reminisce? Feel free to relive Gosling as “Ken” here.
