Cameron Boyce Foundation’s New Gala Reunites Disney Stars
The Cameron Boyce Foundation held its Cam For A Cause Gala, reuniting Descendants stars, Dove Cameron, Sofia Carson, Booboo Stewart, and China Anne McClain.
McClain made her first-ever appearance at the Gala this year with her sisters Lauryn and Sierra.
A week before her appearance, the actor took to Instagram to share her reunion with Cameron Boyce’s parents on what would have been the Jessie actor’s 25 birthday.
The Black Lightning actor was open about how heavily she took Cameron Boyce’s passing since the loss in 2019.
Other Descendant stars, loved ones, and fans also took to social media to wish him a happy birthday.

Both the Gala and the foundation work to honor his legacy and aim to cure epilepsy through funding research, education, and awareness campaigns, while giving support to causes that were important to Boyce.
This year, the foundation awarded Taylor Lautner and his wife the inaugural Youth Empowerment Achievement Award. In a post, they congratulated the two for the work they are doing, “to help young people across the board.”
The organization started gifting individuals the Youth Empowerment Award in 2023. Yara Shahidi, the first-ever recipient, was in attendance this year. Last year, she was recognized for her activism in STEM awareness, women’s rights, and civil rights.
Instead of a red carpet, the gala has a purple one. The color purple is associated with epilepsy and is even the name of an international grassroots effort dedicated to increasing awareness about epilepsy worldwide, Purple Day.
The Cam For a Cause Gala’s purple carpet has seen stars like Adam Sandler, Debby Ryan, and Kenny Ortega.
The Cam For A Cause Gala has previously held musical performances and speeches. This year, a performance was given by Devin Kennedy, who debuted his song “Eventually.” The foundation is raising money for a $10,000 fundraiser they kicked off on Boyce’s birthday, May 28, to continue their advocacy to cure epilepsy and Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy (SUDEP).
Those who wish to support the cause can visit their site to donate, sponsor, or partner with the organization for events and fundraising.
