The Real Housewives of New Jersey will certainly have an unconventional Season 14 Reunion, a dramatic ending to this season’s chaos.

Following reports of a canceled reunion, Bravo host Andy Cohen confirmed on a broadcast of Reality Checked that this season will “not feature a traditional reunion” for the first time in the series’ history. Rather, Cohen explained, “There will be something that Bravo is cooking up in place of a reunion, and so that is to be announced.”

This season’s cast includes Teresa Giudice, Melissa Gorga, Jennifer Aydin, Dolores Catania, Rachel Fuda, and Danielle Carbal. The series’ cancellation comes as a result of unresolved tension among cast members, especially the ongoing feud between Giudice and Gorga.

Giudice and Gorga did not interact all season until the explosive finale, in which all the ladies confronted each other at a dinner table. Cohen describes this shocking finale as “this final epic group encounter, which is like, it feels like the Last Supper and is just so Jersey. . . And it’s shocking and it’s dramatic and it’s amazing TV. I’m telling you, when you see it, I think that you’ll feel complete. I really do.”

With such high-intensity drama, a solution to the cast divide is not likely to appear anytime soon. An insider for the series revealed that a traditional reunion isn’t feasible, leaving the network scrambling for an alternative. “A reunion is meant to have resolution and it’s clear in the season final that there is no path forward in that type of setting,” the source explained.

Though the ladies cranked up the drama this season, a cast divide between Team Teresa and Team Melissa is not sustainable. Both The Real Housewives of Atlanta and The Real Housewives of Potomac recently had major cast changes because of irreconcilable conflicts, leaving New Jersey’s future in question.

The only reunion cancellation in The Real Housewives franchise occurred in Season 13 of The Real Housewives of New York City, leading to a complete cast reboot in Season 14. Though Bravo hasn’t commented on casting, insiders revealed that Bravo has yet to make any decision on the casting of RHONJ

You can watch Season 14 of The Real Housewives of New Jersey on Sundays at 8/7c on Bravo.
