On Friday at the Summer Games Fest, Innersloth unveiled the first trailer for Among Us. It shows off the various Crewmates aboard a ship that players will recognize as the Skeld. They perform multiple tasks while a shadowy presence watches them in the background. Currently, the animated series has yet to reveal a release date.

Among Us is a social deduction game initially released in 2018 by Innersloth. The goal of the game is to locate the “Imposters” hiding among a group of 10 “Crewmates,” all while the “Imposters” are trying to kill everyone else.

Though initially released to little fanfare, Among Us received a massive popularity spike during the COVID-19 pandemic due to its social elements. People interacted and spoke through the game when socializing in person was impossible. As a result, it has since dominated the internet and streaming culture through memes, promotions, and various online activities.

Last June, Variety reported that a television series based on Among Us was in development. CBS Studios is developing the project, and Owen Dennis (Infinity Train) will serve as showrunner. Randall Park (Ant-Man and the Wasp), Yvette Nicole-Brown (Community), Elijah Wood (Lord of the Rings), and Ashley Johnson (The Last of Us) will star in the series.
