The teaser was released on Instagram, and two words come to mind: Fast and Furious. The one minute and 15 seconds starts with Will and Carlton in a car race, referencing Will Smith’s Bad Boys film. The duo begins the summer with a new swagger on the beach. Uncle Phil, Aunt Viv, and Hillary are living their best lives. However, Will’s past seemingly catches up with him as someone gets put in the hospital.

Fans have been showing their excitement for the new season on social media.

Showrunner Carla Banks Waddles promised “pools, beach parties, bonfires, fireworks, Juneteenth celebrations, and lots of summer lovin’.” She further explained, “This season, we’ll have a lot of great discussion on the gentrification happening in South LA and how so many people are capitalizing on the economy at the cost of the community.”

Morgan Cooper, the series creator, director, and executive producer, expressed, “The colors are more vibrant, the sound is elevated, the cinematography is more immersive.”

Season 3’s synopsis will leave fans anticipating the drama that awaits their favorite characters. According to TVLine, Will (portrayed by Jabari Banks) will have “options to lean into other things that excite him and has the privilege to dream bigger.”

TVLine further shares that Will’s cousin, Carlton (Olly Sholotan), “desperately wants to leave his life of addiction behind and rebuild his damaged reputation.” While the two characters have decided to work together, their history is filled with tension, and they are bound to hit a rough patch this upcoming season.

Aunt Viv (Cassandra Freeman) and Uncle Phil (Adrian Holmes) will face pressures from work and home, challenging their relationship. Hillary (Coco Jones) will face hurdles with her new relationship with LaMarcus (Justin Cornwell).

TVLine suggests that Ashley (Akira Akbar) might dive into romance as her views “will start to blossom as she comes of age the summer before she starts high school.” As for Geoffrey’s (Jimmy Akingbola) London origins, they “will come a little too close to home.”

While the beloved cast will return, it wouldn’t be Bel-Air if they didn’t add new characters. Vic Mensa (The Chi) and Alycia Pascual-Peña (Saved by the Bell) will join the cast in recurring roles. Mensa and Pascual-Peña will potray characters Quentin and Amira.

Bel-Air will premiere its first three episodes on Thursday, August 15, on Peacock. The rest of the episodes will be available to stream weekly. Check out the teaser below.
