Kali Uchis Honored With Billboard’s Rising Star Award
Kali Uchis received the Rising Star Award this year at Billboard’s Latin Women in Music Gala.
The new mother and creative powerhouse accepted the honor graciously and performed “Igual Que un Ángel,” a hit from her latest Spanish-language album. Several other legends in the making took the stage, and their performances likewise wowed fellow artists in attendance and fans at home alike.
It’s been a busy year for Uchis, from the release of her album ORQUÍDEAS in January to the birth of her son in March. But the artist shows no signs of slowing down. Uchis resumed performing in May at the Bottlerock Festival in Napa Valley, and as usual, her beautiful voice and fabulous style captivated the audience.

From her stage presence to her dreamy vocals and relentless work ethic, this award was well-deserved. Friend and collaborator Peso Pluma presented Uchis with the award virtually, praising her talents and accomplishments.

Uchis elegantly accepted the award with a few words, sharing her gratitude to God, her loved ones, and her fans for all the opportunities she’s been provided. Her timeless style was again displayed as she donned a beautiful black gown and glamorous updo.
