Normani Releases New Debut Album DOPAMINE
Normani just released her long-awaited debut album, DOPAMINE.
When the former Fifth Harmony singer announced her debut album, DOPAMINE, back in February, fans everywhere rejoiced at the reclusive artist’s return to music. The singer has been teasing the release of her first studio album since Fifth Harmony split up in 2018, and, after six long years, the highly anticipated record is finally out. Since its release on June 14, fans and critics alike have sung its praises and affirmed that DOPAMINE was certainly worth the wait.

Though the album has only been out for a few days, it has already achieved impressive amounts of success. Upon its release, DOPAMINE earned a number nine spot on the Worldwide Apple Music Album Chart and climbed to number six the next day. The record also became the number one highest-selling pop album on iTunes in the US, making the “Insomnia” singer the highest-charting female artist of all genres on the platform.

Moved by all the love and success her new album has received, Normani took to X to express her gratitude to fans who have endured the wait.
“[I] have really been over here all morning doing my best to find the words to articulate my gratitude for everyone that has endured with me throughout this process and who has continued to believe in me,” the “All Yours” singer writes. “This album was legit one of the hardest things in life for me over the years. [I] literally can’t even entirely verbalize my appreciation in this moment because of how overwhelmed my heart is in the most magical way possible.”

As fans have articulated, the release of an album six years in the making is cause for celebration. Last weekend, Normani did just that; the singer celebrated the release of her debut album with a cake decorated with several tweets from an X user who counted every year that the artist did not release her album. Luckily, with the release of DOPAMINE, that user and other fans are finally getting what they have waited for.
