Bella Hadid Named as New Face of YSL
Yves Saint Laurent announced that mogul, activist, and supermodel Bella Hadid is officially the new face of YSL on June 27, posting a stunning shot of the model.
This new enterprise should come as no surprise, as Hadid has shown she can accomplish anything and everything this year, from founding her own fragrance company to advocating for change. Yves Saint Laurent, led by Anthony Vaccarello, triumphantly announced Hadid as the face of their Fall/Winter collection with a photo featuring Hadid wearing a lace shirt lying on top of a fur coat.

This isn’t the first time Hadid has been associated with the luxury brand, and the YSL ensemble she wore in Cannes is still fresh in fans’ minds.

We can’t wait to see what else this collaboration has in store. Hadid’s style reflects that fashion is more than the garments you wear. It’s one of the most powerful modes of communication in our arsenal. While enjoying the Cannes Film Festival, she wore a dress made from Keffiyeh material. This fabric, typically used as a Bedouin headdress, has come to symbolize solidarity with the “Free Palestine” movement. The black-and-white pattern, in particular, has become synonymous with the Palestinian cause, NPR reported.
Hadid has been incredibly consistent in supporting the Palestinian cause and outspoken about her Dutch-Palestinian identity. She recently reiterated her position via Instagram, stating she “won’t stop talking about the systematic oppression, pain and humility that Palestinians face on a regular basis.”
Hadid’s fragrance company, Orebella, also focuses on supporting communities in need. She recently revealed the Orebella Alchemy Foundation, which gives back through donations, community outreach, and service hours. So far, the foundation has partnered with the Lower Eastside Girls Club and PATH International, which relates to Hadid’s passion for horsemanship.
Her commitment to supporting causes close to her heart is very inspiring. We can’t wait to see the good she’s bringing into the world.
