BTS’s Jin Selected as Torchbearer for Paris 2024 Olympics
BTS’s Jin will participate as a torch relay runner representing South Korea at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.
According to the Olympics site, since May 8, 10,000 Olympic Torchbearers have met French people in over 400 cities to garner excitement for the Games.
Torchbearers were chosen based on their dedication and embodiment of at least one core tenet: commitment to sport and the Games, contributions to their communities, and efforts toward a more inclusive and sustainable society. This selection aims to reflect the diversity of society and promote inclusivity.
The entire Paris 2024 ecosystem is involved in the selection of Torchbearers, including the two official sponsors: Coca-Cola and Banque Populaire Caisse d’Epargne.
Jin will be a torchbearer on the last day of the torch relay and the day of the Opening Ceremony of the 2024 Summer Olympics. The Games will continue until August 11. The exact date of his departure to France is still being determined.

The idol has also begun returning to scheduled activities following his discharge. He will appear on MBC’s South Korean variety program, I’m Glad You Got a Good Rest.
However, activities began for the “Dynamite” singer the day of his discharge when he held a live stream on Weverse Live. He then continued the excitement, hosting an event to meet fans the next day.
It was also revealed that a new music recording is in progress, though it has not been confirmed by HYBE or the boy band member himself.
Jin’s latest single, “The Astronaut” was released in October 2022 before he left to fulfill his military service. You can listen to the song below.
