The lead single “Nasty” has become Tinashe’s first solo hit. The song was number one on Spotify’s Global Viral 50 and US Viral 50 charts. Moreover, it was also on the Apple iTunes R&B and Soul Songs chart. The singer recently performed “Nasty” on MTV.
“Nasty” has become so popular that the “Needs” singer has released a MATCH MY FREAK EP and new merch to celebrate the single’s success.
The R&B singer also released the music video for “Getting No Sleep,” her second single from Quantum Baby on Jun 28. The video includes a trigger warning for those who experience epilepsy.
The video picks up where “Nasty” left off, with the pop artist on the run. She eventually stops at a bar to meet her lover, herself. As they make out, she goes back outside to realize that she has been caught.
In a press release, the independent artist states, “‘Quantum Baby’ is about getting to know me on a deeper level. It’s about exploring who I am as a person and who I am as an artist. I’ve never been one to be put into a box, so the name ‘Quantum Baby’ encompasses all the different parts that make up who I am as a creative.”
