Halsey Samples a Britney Spears Classic in New Single ‘Lucky’
Halsey is teasing her new single titled “Lucky,” which samples Britney Spears’s iconic song of the same name.
Halsey has begun the rollout for their new album and revealed their second single is titled “Lucky.”
A few weeks ago, the artist began teasing their new album with a mysterious website, and released their first single from the new project titled “The End.”
The “Without Me” singer also revealed in an Instagram post that they have been battling both Leukemia and Lupus, stating, “Long story short, i’m Lucky to be alive. short story long, i wrote an album. it begins with The End. out now.”
After this shocking revelation, fans began to realize that this new project would be very personal to the singer. At the time, fans did not pick up on the Easter eggs in Halsey’s post of the two capitalized titles of her singles: “Lucky” and “The End.”
Now, she is releasing her second single, “Lucky.” The new song samples Britney Spears’s 2000s classic of the same name. It served as the “Gimme More” singer’s second single from her second studio album, Oops I Did It Again.

Halsey shared that Spears’s words in “Lucky” were extremely relatable and it felt as though the pop star was singing “directly to [her].” Not only is the artist sampling Spears’s song, but she is also channeling her energy in the promotional clips and photos for the single.
