Sabrina Carpenter made her Hot Ones debut on July 11, where she ate the world’s spiciest wings while answering some questions about her career thus far.

Even though the interview has only been out for a few days, fans already love the episode. One user wrote, “Stop sabrina’s episode of hot ones was soo entertaining!!..girlie suffered with the 2nd to last spicy wing.”

The YouTube series is hosted by Sean Evans, where he interviews celebrities while they eat the hottest wings. The sauce on the wings gets worse as the interview goes on. Currently, Carpenter is promoting her upcoming sixth studio album, Short n’ Sweet, coming on August 23. The pop singer released an 80s-style commercial teaser of the tracklist containing 12 songs.

The “Espresso” singer brought milkshakes to the Hot Ones hot seat, as she prefers sweet over spicy. She explained, “Appreciates is the wrong word; they always just kind of happen to me, and then I deal with it.”

Early in the interview, Carpenter expressed how her approach to choosing songs for an album has changed since the overwhelming response to “Nonsense.” “It made me want to trust my personal favorites a little bit more. This song was so kindred with my personality and I started to get in my head on like what fits a record versus what fits like Sabrina… Moving forward, making the next record I think now I just… whatever feels the most honest and connects to me the most, I feel like will connect with other people.”

The “Please Please Please” singer also discussed her songwriting process, stating, ” I think sometimes I really do go into it with such a specific … you know word or phrase that I love and I do kind of obsess over it until I can find the right place for it whether it’s in that song or a completely different song.” Last year, the pop star appeared on the Capital Buzz YouTube channel to explain some of her favorite lyrics.

The “Nonsense” singer also likes to give advice to her fans, especially during her Emails I Can’t Send Tour. The artist revealed, “I like to take people out of the show for a second … it just makes it feel a little bit more like a slumber party.”

Carpenter also explained how important it is to her for fans to understand the lyrics in her songs. She expressed, “If people don’t know the punchline, it’s like, waste. That’s how I feel about ‘me espresso.’ I’ve heard a lot of people that were like, ‘She should’ve said, That’s that blonde espresso, duh.’ And I’m like, ‘Well, yes. That is another song as well that deserves its spot in the world, but this one for me … ‘me espresso’ just felt like the right thing to say, and it rhymes with the line before it.”

The pop star might not be a big fan of spicy things but she nailed the Hot Ones Challenge. She ends the interview with the iconic quote, “My new album is called Short n’ Sweet … notice I didn’t call it Short n’ Spicy because I like sweet things better.”
