Several new faces are also joining the cast for one final expedition to the Upside Down. Linda Hamilton (The Terminator) was cast in July of last year. In addition, Deadline reported that actors Nell Fisher, Alex Breaux, and Jake Connelly will be a part of the final season.
Stranger Things is expected to return in 2025, with its last season consisting of eight episodes. Hawke has spoken about the length of the episodes, describing them as feature length. The first episode is titled “The Crawl.”
Stranger Things is one of the most popular series of the last decade. Initially released in 2016, it serves as a tribute to the 1980s and the works of author Stephen King. The series captured the world’s attention, making the careers of several of Hollywood’s youngest stars, including Brown, Sink, Finn Wolfhard (Mike Wheeler), and Hawke.
The massive, whole-season airings of Stranger Things on Netflix launched the debate of binge versus weekly releases, which continues today. The series’ conclusion marks the end of an era at Netflix.
