Alex Aster Announces New Summer Romance Novel
Alex Aster announces a new steamy romance adult novel, Summer in the City, set to release on March 25, 2025.
Fan-favorite fantasy author, Alex Aster, takes a new path and switches genres. On July 13, the New York Times bestselling author announced that she will be publishing her newest adult romance novel, Summer in the City. Taking city life and enemies-to-lovers to a whole new level, fans are desperate to see what Aster has up her sleeve.
The Lightlark author posted on her Instagram that she has been secretly working on this new project since 2021. The novel is filled with high tensions, fake dating scenarios, upscaled events, and forced proximity. Readers will follow the main character, Elle, a screenwriter hired to help write a new movie around a list of locations throughout New York City.
Elle’s expected romance is Parker, her stairwell hookup from two years ago. Parker is a famous tech founder who does not mind wasting money. The two are neighbors, leaving Elle to deal with Parker’s infuriating habits. Barnes & Noble states, “Both need a break from their unrelenting schedules, and a chance to rediscover the skyscraper glimmering, pizza crusted, sunlit charms of the city. The author announced that William Morrow will publish the U.S. version, and Bloomsbury Publishing will publish the UK version. Aster expressed that the first rounds of printing will exhibit stunning art. Stating that the “US edition is a deluxe hardcover, with full-color endpapers…a foil case stamp, AND stenciled sprayed edges with multiple colors.”
This past week, Aster has been posting TikTok’s on her Instagram, providing short segments of what her new book entails. Fans were filled with excitement, commenting, “Omg congratulations Alex!!!!!!! This is so awesome!!!!” and “AMAZING I CANNOT WAIT‼️‼️”
