Peter Hawkings Parts Ways as Creative Director of Tom Ford
After less than a year from his debut as the creative director of Tom Ford, Peter Hawkings has decided to step down.
Hawkings is a British designer who has been working with Tom Ford since the brand’s inception in 2005. The creative director gained his prestigious role when the company’s namesake sold the design house to Estée Lauder before making his exit.
During his short time as creative director, Hawkings was able to pull off beautiful looks that connected to the core of Tom Ford’s designs. Though some felt the designer didn’t add anything new to the brand, Hawkings successfully emulated some of Ford’s staples and high-level glamour that put the fashion house on the map.

Following his departure, Ford stated, “I would like to express my gratitude to Peter for his exceptional contributions to Tom Ford from the very beginning.”
Hawkings’s exit has made Tom Ford one of many design houses with positions to fill. Givenchy, Chanel, and Dries Van Noten are all in need of new design directors.
As of right now, Tom Ford will not be having a SS25 show as they look for a new designer. The brand has yet to make an announcement for a replacement but stay tuned to their Instagram as they plan to share the news in the near future.
