Normani discusses support for her debut album, the meaning behind Dopamine, and her boyfriend to Access Daily’s Mario Lopez and Kit Hoover in her latest interview.

Normani starts the interview by describing her debut album as “a declaration and representation of my resilience.” The “Big Boy” singer states, “I’ve been through so much, from my personal life – things that have gone on behind the scenes that a lot of people just aren’t aware of – but I’ve never given up on myself. I feel like my endurance – I’ve definitely been tested spiritually, emotionally, physically, but God was with me every step of the way, and I’m just grateful to finally see the day.”

The songstress is receiving love from her former Fifth Harmony bandmates. The R&B star reveals that there have been “so many texts and sweet messages that I get. We really paid our dues. So, it’s just beautiful to see all of us just thriving and really flourishing. This was the plan. We stuck to the plan and it’s just beautiful just to see all of us in our own personal endeavors just thriving and we’re very supportive.”

Normani has been open about her struggles in the music industry. This time, the “Love Lies” singer wanted to “really curate a sound and [it] be authentic and fully represent who Normani is.”

The pop star lets fans know that music videos will come out “real soon.” Any Normani fan knows that the singer was a big 106 & Park fan growing up, which was the inspiration for the “Motivation” music video. The “Insomnia” singer lists Ciara, Beyoncé, Destiny’s Child, and Michael and Janet Jackson’s “Scream” music video as some of her inspirations.

Fans have also been waiting for the musician to go on tour. She expresses, “That’s what I’m most excited for. I’m like, ‘I’ve been in the studio for a minute, but I have so much bottled up in me.’ I feel most at home when I’m onstage, so I’m excited for that – and to see my fans! Like, to feel them! It’s been a minute.”

The “Candy Paint” singer has also been getting back into acting. She reveals, “I actually did a film called ‘Freaky Tales’ and it was the most beautiful experience.”
