U.S., Italy, and Brazil Dazzle Their Way to the Podium in Stunning Leotards
The U.S., Italy, and Brazil women’s gymnastics teams secured gold, silver, and bronze medals this week.
Each competitor’s ability was on full display, from the legendary Simone Biles’ outstanding floor routine to Brazilian powerhouse Rebeca Andrade’s mind-blowing performance on the vault. We can’t praise these women’s talent, grit, and strength enough, and they keep raising the bar, even concerning attire. Each team’s uniforms were designed to support their success, and the stories behind the designs are equal parts heartwarming and dazzling.
The U.S. team leotards, courtesy of GK Elite, are bejeweled with pearls and up to 47,000 Swarovski crystals. The lavish materials explain why the athletes seemed to gleam throughout the competition. The Go for Glory design, donned for the women’s team final, was designed to evoke the “radiant moment when an athlete, draped in the flag, transcends to become a symbol of triumph.”
Triumphant is the perfect word to describe the U.S. women’s team upon securing yet another gold medal. Each team member beamed and seemed to glow with the satisfaction of accomplishing the impossible. Simone Biles, Suni Lee, Jordan Chiles, Jade Carey, and Hezly Rivera couldn’t contain themselves, and fans were quick to celebrate the moment, and its tremendous viewership, online.

The Italian team also celebrated wholeheartedly, as they secured Italy’s first Olympic team medal in 96 years. They did so in style, donning luminescent white leotards with three-quarter mesh sleeves. Without overstating their national identity, the uniforms convey patriotism, elegance, and excellence. Their fanbase expressed excitement for the team’s success, almost as much as they expressed appreciation for the uniforms’ sleek design.

It’s no surprise Italian Olympians have been consistently stylish, considering Armani’s involvement in the opening ceremony ensembles.
Although Brazil’s women’s gymnastics team left with a bronze medal, they scored a gold medal in fashion. Competing in glorious dark blue leotards with gold crystals, the gymnasts elegantly emulated the Brazilian flag without sacrificing an inch of good taste. Viewers from around the globe voiced their admiration.
Yes for all the gymnastics feats at the teams final today, but can we just take a second to appreciate Brazil’s incredible leotards?!

The uniforms were designed by Brazilian Olympic gymnast Jade Barbosa in collaboration with Ozone. Barbosa, who has been a part of Team Brazil since 2008, grew up designing and crafting her leotards for gymnastic competitions alongside her father and has been designing uniforms for her teammates since 2018.
The competition was fierce, but no matter how intense things became, the team appeared coordinated and composed, even despite Flavia Saraiva’s training injury. The team’s unity and sportsmanship appeared untouchable.
While the immaculate uniforms worn by the women’s gymnastics finalists are far from their most impressive accomplishments, we can’t help but appreciate every facet of their greatness. We’re proud to wish these teams heartfelt congratulations and can’t wait to see what they accomplish next.
