Henry Selick, the director and screenwriter behind Coraline, discusses details of the film’s remastering. He states, “The film was meant to be seen in 3D.” This explains the inability of previous technological development to display Coraline deservingly, including elements of darkness and light-blocking from what would have been an early display in 3D for the film. Improving screening abilities will bring new aspects to Coraline as computer development progresses.
