John Wick Sequel Series in the Works from Lionsgate
Lionsgate and director Chad Stahelski are preparing for a new foray into the John Wick universe on the small screen.
Deadline has exclusively reported that a series titled John Wick: Under the High Table is in development at Lionsgate. Stahelski serves as executive producer and will also direct the pilot episode. Star Keanu Reeves is producing, but will not appear in the series proper. Robert Levine(The Old Man) wrote the story, which picks up directly after the events of John Wick 4. In addition, this news comes shortly after Stahelski signed on to oversee the entire John Wick franchise across multiple platforms.

According to the article, the story explores the consequences of John Wick’s death in the last film. His departure has left the world of assassins in a strange position, and no doubt a horde of names will strive to be the next John Wick. The article describes a mix of new and old characters going head to head to determine the world’s future.
This is not the first foray into television for the John Wick franchise. Last year, Peacock released The Continental: From the World of John Wick, a three-part limited series focusing on the titular Continental hotel. It received mixed reviews but became Peacock’s top launch of the year. Clearly, audiences are willing to tune in for new looks into the bloody world of assassins that John Wick calls home.
In addition, there are currently three feature films in development set in the world of John Wick. The first is John Wick Presents: Ballerina, starring Oscar-nominated actress Ana De Armas. Scheduled for release in June 2025, the film takes place between the third and fourth John Wick installments. As such, Keanu Reeves and the late Lance Reddick, whose characters both perished in the fourth film, will return once again in supporting roles.
'BALLERINA' starring Ana de Armas has been delayed from June 7, 2024 to June 6, 2025.

A fifth John Wick installment is in the works, despite the titular character’s death in the last film. Furthermore, a spinoff film regarding Donnie Yen’s assassin Caine is also in the works, serving as a spinoff set after the fourth film. Overall, the future for this franchise of assassins seems very bright.
