Blake Lively recreated an iconic Britney Spears look, wearing a 2002 vintage Versace dress for her new upcoming film premiere, It Ends with Us.

On August 6, the cast and supporting actors of It Ends with Us hit the red carpet in New York City looking fabulous as ever. All glammed up for the night, Lively appeared with her coworkers, Justin Baldoni, Brandon Sklenar, and Jenny Slate.

Lively surprised fans when she appeared in a vintage Versace dress worn by Britney Spears in 2002. Fitting the floral theme, Lively’s dress had a one-shoulder halter neckline, and embellished flowers flowing across her waist. The multi-colored sequined dress sparked throughout the night as she walked the carpet. Accessorizing, she added several Lorraine Schwartz’s rings, each matching the colors in her dress. Stickling to the pastel colors, her glam team added a pink eyeshadow that matched her matte lipstick, and let her long luscious hair flow down her open back.

Lively told People Magazine, “It is Britney’s actual dress.” Excitedly adding, “It should be in the Smithsonian or the Met. But it’s on me. I feel so lucky!”

On Tuesday Lively posted Spears wearing the 2000 dresses commenting, “Today’s mood. The ultimate queen who made us all want to sparkle and write and share our stories.” Adding, “Britney, us millennials all have a story of a moment, or of years that you made us want to shine and inspire awe, with strength, and joy and immensely hard work. Thank you for your example and your contribution to women telling their stories.”

The New York Times Bestselling Author of It Ends with Us, Colleen Hoover, also attended the event. Additionally, Lively’s supportive husband Ryan Reynolds appeared at her side wearing an olive-green suit and a pink flower to match his wife. A few weeks ago, the actress supported Reynolds’ newest film, Deadpool & Wolverine, and his co-star, Hugh Jackman, also made an appearance.

The novel’s leading character, Lily Bloom, is portrayed by executive producer, Lively. The director Baldoni stars as the romantic love interest, Ryle Kincaid. Additionally, Sklenar takes the role of Lily’s young love, Atlas Corrigan. Alex Neustadter and Isabela Ferer portray younger versions of Lily and Atlas.

In the film adaptation of Hoover’s novel, “Lily overcomes a traumatic childhood to embark on a new life. A chance meeting with a neurosurgeon sparks a connection but Lily begins to see sides of him that remind her of her parents’ relationship.” After bumping into her first love, she realizes that true love comes in all shapes, but must make a decision that will cost her.

On August 9, It Ends with Us will hit the theaters. Watch the trailer below.
