The Pink Pony Club just keeps growing. Chappell Roan’s set at Lollapalooza last weekend may have brought in the festival’s biggest crowd yet.
Dressed in sparkly pink professional wrestler garb, your favorite artist’s favorite artist took the stage last week at the Lollapalooza music festival. At first, the “Good Luck, Babe!” singer was set to perform on a smaller stage at the festival, but later swapped stages and set times with Kesha due to high interest from fans in the weeks leading up to the performance. This decision turned out to be the right one, as the “Red Wine Supernova” singer’s set may have been the festival’s biggest set of all time.

Thanks to Roan’s meteoric rise to fame over the course of this year, the “Hot To Go” singer’s Lollapalooza set drew in a massive, possibly record-breaking crowd. Though the exact number of fans who attended the pop star’s performance is currently unknown, CNN reports that 110,000 attendees visited the Chicago festival each day this year. “Chappell’s performance was the biggest daytime set we’ve ever seen,” a spokesperson for the festival told CNN. “It was a magical moment added to Lolla’s DNA.”
Two sources who are close to the “Femininominon” singer and the festival informed the outlet that Roan’s crowd gave most headliners a run for their money. These sources also believe the queer artist held the largest set in the history of the festival, out of any other Lollapalooza performance in the world. As the festival’s official X account tweeted on Thursday, “It’s Chappell’s world and we’re just living in it.”

Other performers at the music festival took notice of the artist’s unprecedented set and applauded the “Casual” singer’s success and stage presence. SZA, one of the festival’s headliners, posted a clip of Roan’s performance on her Instagram story and shared how the viral artist inspires her. “She makes me wanna keep making new music n art forever,” the “Saturn” singer expressed. Fans also spotted the pop star meeting up with Kesha at the festival and watching the “Joyride” singer’s set from backstage.
