Rising pop singer Remy Bond released “Summer Song” on June 28, along with a lush music video showcasing her dreamy, over-the-top aesthetic.

The vintage, romantic video is brimming with old-school Americana imagery, referencing so much from the past that it’s somehow timeless. We can’t stop listening to the quintessential indie pop track, which features the talents of Air and TTRRUUCES. The “End of the World” singer captivated fans with this new release, and we look forward to seeing what she does next.

Bond’s delicate voice floats through her music with effortless grace. From the first frame of the music video, it’s clear she’s found her niche. With bouncy blonde curls and blue-shadowed eyes cast downwards, she glides up the aisle mournfully in a vintage wedding dress. The singer joins her betrothed and an Elvis-impersonating officiant at the podium. Suddenly, her true love appears at the door, takes her by the hand, and they rush to a butter-yellow vintage convertible and their happily ever after.

Bond’s angelic vocals accompany the glamorous following scenes, replete with satiny Playboy bunnies, enormous tropical flowers, and poolside cigarettes. Despite comparisons to Lana Del Rey and Kali Uchis, the artist has created a dream world all her own.

By taking the look of those early DIY music video stars (see “Video Games,” and “What They Say“) a step or two further, the singer enters new territory: a shining treasure trove of American symbology. Visual references to Priscilla and Elvis Presley abound, the lyrics allude to Sid and Nancy, and she’s teamed up with Air, who created the hauntingly beautiful The Virgin Suicides score. Perhaps the greatest similarity to Del Rey lies in her fascination with painful, glamorous relationships and the desire to live a beautiful life.

The emphasis on gorgeous aesthetics in every project the star tackles doesn’t seem to be going anywhere. On August 5, she revealed that two new songs, “Paris” and a “surprise song,” will be released imminently, with at least the former arriving on August 16.

The new content will clearly be just as luxurious and stylized as fans have come to expect, as the reveal depicts the singer in an oversize martini glass a la Dita Von Teese.

We can’t wait to see what’s in store. Fans can pre-save Remy Bond’s new music and enjoy “Summer Song” on all streaming platforms. You can also view the music video below.
