Kraven the Hunter: First Look at New Villain in Second Trailer
Sony just unveiled the second trailer for Kraven the Hunter, the next in their long line of Spider-Man spinoff films.
The trailer, which aired this morning, comes over a year after the first trailer, which was released in June 2023. However, Kraven The Hunter was delayed due to the actor’s strike preventing promotion. As such, it will now hit theaters on December 13.

Directed by Oscar-nominee J.C. Chandor, Kraven the Hunter is the sixth film in Sony’s Spider-Man spinoff series. This series launched in 2018 with Venom and has since focused on Spider-Man side characters. In addition to three Venom films, this series includes 2022’s Morbius and Madame Web earlier this year. All films in this series have received mixed to negative reviews. However, we will see if this new film can break that streak.
Aaron Taylor-Johnson stars as Sergei Kravinoff, with the film exploring his time before he became known as the world’s greatest hunter. Though he’ll later end up hunting Spider-Man, Kravinoff begins his career as a protector of the natural world. Joining him are Russell Crowe as his father Nikolai and Ariana Debose as his Calypso. In addition, Fred Hechinger appears as The Chameleon, and Christopher Abbott portrays The Foreigner. Another Spider-Man villain, The Rhino, also makes an appearance in the trailer. However, one change for this film is that it has an R-rating, and it carries a franchise-high budget of 130 million dollars.
The character of Kraven last appeared in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, which was released last year. The game ended up selling over 11 million copies as of March, so that means a lot of people are at least familiar with the character. Kraven The Hunter will releases on December 13, opposite the animated film The Lord of the Rings: War of the Rohirrim. You can watch the new official trailer for Kraven the Hunter below.
