Eilish’s remarkable career was launched when she released the track “Ocean Eyes” on SoundCloud for a dance class project. “Ocean Eyes” was written and produced by Eilish’s older brother and longtime collaborator, Finneas O’Connell— they were 13 and 17 at the time. The track gained the attention of several music blogs and nearly a year later she was signed with Darkroom and Interscope Records.
The singer marked her E.P. debut with dont smile at me, a nine-song, 29-minute project that attained remarkable success. The E.P. holds legendary tracks, such as “idontwannabeyouanymore,” “Ocean Eyes,” and “my boy,” that have appeared in notable Netflix originals. “dont smile at me” now has over nine billion streams on Spotify.
The “bad guy” singer’s most recent project is her third studio album, HIT ME HARD AND SOFT which debuted at number 2 on the Billboard 200. The album contains dynamic tracks like “THE GREATEST,” “LUNCH,” and “WILDFLOWER.” This September, the artist will embark on her global tour for the album and will continue her partnership with environmental organization Reverb.
Eilish also recently collaborated with dance-pop artist Charli XCX, a short 2-minute track that has reached over 91 million Spotify streams.
