At the VMA Block Party, attendees partook in fun activations. They got temporary tattoos while they hung out with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and cooled off with some frozen pink lemonade, courtesy of Burger King.

Fans made their way to the Doritos Extended Play tent multiple times to try their luck and win fun prizes, from a bag of Doritos to charm bracelets, and the grand prize—tickets to Wednesday night’s award show.

Of course, it wouldn’t be a celebration of the VMAs without the beloved MoonMan. The iconic statue stood in multiple places where attendees took photos for keepsakes.

Speaking of keepsakes, MTV set up a screen-printing station where guests chose from multiple designs to be printed on t-shirts and tote bags, which were worth the wait—literally, this station drew in a massive line.

However, the true highlight of the day was at the Main Stage. Fans enjoyed an outdoor concert right by the water, the perfect way to start winding down the summer and welcoming the fall. CBS New York’s Alecia Reed and MTV’s Dometi Pongo hosted the stage, where they interacted with the crowd and made some fans’ dreams come true as they won free tickets to the VMAs.

Before each set, DJ CherishTheLuv kept the vibes high by playing all of the year’s greatest hits, so much so that guests were weary of stepping away until the next performance.

Throughout the afternoon, “Kehlani” rapper Jordan Adetunji, “Not the 1975” singer Knox, and “Don’t Pay With It” artist Lola Brooke all stormed the stage and had fans ready for another year of iconic music.

Now, fans have a slight glimpse of what’s to come at this year’s MTV VMAs airing on September 11 at 8:00 P.M. with a 6:30 P.M. pre-show on MTV
