After a duo of six years in the making, Tyler, The Creator, and Timothée Chalamet will finally be screen partners. The two have expressed their admiration for each other, with the rapper even writing about the actor in several of his songs.

He also updated his X bio to reference some of Chalamet’s films, such as Bones and All. Now, the duo will share the screen for Marty Supreme, the latest project in development at A24, a film company notorious for its heart-wrenching dramas and heart-stopping thrillers.

Now, here are more details surrounding the film. Marty Supreme is one of the year’s most highly anticipated sports dramas. Set to start filming in New York later this month, the project will chronicle the life of legendary table tennis player Marty Reisman, portrayed by Chalamet. In addition, Gwyneth Paltrow will also star alongside Chalamet while serving as a producer on the film.

The film is set to cover Reisman’s career, spanning from the 1940s to the 2000s. Known as the “Wizard of Table Tennis,” Reisman was also celebrated for his acrobatic skills and charisma shining through his performances. Although he was met with great respect, his life was riddled with conflict and tragedies that plagued him. Turning to table tennis during those difficult hardships essentially revived Reisman to become this legendary persona.

Although this is the rapper’s first introduction on the silver screen, it is not the first time he has graced fan’s screens. Back in the early 2010s Tyler, The Creator was a part of Odd Future, a rap group that also joined forces for Loiter Squad, a comedy series revolving around parodies and other outrageous skits. While his role in the upcoming A24 is still unknown, we can expect the rapper to touch on his old comedic roots to steal the show.
