Pop sensation Olivia Rodrigo is bringing her chart-topping sophomore album to the big screen with the announcement of her GUTS World Tour concert special.

Rodrigo made the surprise announcement via her official fan account, @livieshq. The pop singer’s iconic GUTS World Tour poster was featured on the account, but with the addition of a banner that read “October 29” and Netflix’s logo. “Relive the magic of the #GUTSWorldTour from the best seat in the house,” the caption read.

Filmed at the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles, the singer-songwriter will perform tracks from SOUR, GUTS, and her deluxe version of her sophomore album, GUTS (spilled).

With the singer’s fan base spanning multiple generations, from Gen Z to older audiences, the film is expected to be well-received, offering a chance for fans who couldn’t attend the tour to experience the magic of GUTS. In a statement, the singer shared, “For those of you who didn’t get a chance to rock out in-person, now you can have the best seats in the house! And to the fans who cheered, screamed, and danced with me, I am so glad we get to do it all over again!”

Her tour, which kicked off in early 2024, was a highly anticipated concert for many fans. The singer performed in some of the world’s most iconic arenas and stadiums, from Madison Square Garden in New York City to the Kia Forum in Los Angeles. Currently, the artist is on the Asia and Australia leg of her tour, having just performed in places like Thailand and Singapore.

Even before the tour, GUTS was a cultural phenomenon. Having debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart, “Rodrigo is the first female artist to start atop the chart with two first chart entries [SOUR and GUTS] in nine years.”

Her albums, with candid lyrics about heartbreak, growing up, and self-discovery, resonated with millions of listeners worldwide. GUTS‘ lead singles, “vampire” and “bad idea right?” dominated radio and streaming platforms.

Directed by James Merryman, the film is expected to have a distinct visual style that mirrors the pop-punk style of GUTS. For now, fans can look forward to October 29, when Rodrigo’s concert special will be available for streaming.
