Kesha recently told ELLE she will flip the script in the music industry in a 10-year plan. The “Praying” singer details that the music industry “should be f-king terrified.”

In the interview, she delved into certain aspects of her life the public does not know about her—from her upcoming studio album, self-care, to support from women in the music industry.

Kesha publicly alleged she was physically, emotionally, and sexually assaulted by music producer Dr. Luke in 2005. His record label signed Kesha at only 18 years old, but it wasn’t until nine years later that Kesha took the incident to court.

Due to her contract with the producer, she had to continue working and ultimately had to accomplish the six-studio album deal. Her last and most recent album, Gag Order, was released in May 2023. Ever since the release, she has been able to turn the powerful hashtag #FreeKesha into a reality.

Since her newly found freedom, the artist founded her own label, Kesha Records, and released her new single “Joyride.”

“’The music industry should be f***ing terrified of me,’” she stated in the ELLE interview. “’Because I’m about to make some major moves and shift this shit. I really want to dismantle it piece by piece and shine light into every corner. I hope my legacy is making sure it never happens to anybody ever again.’”

She also discussed her relationships with budding stars Reneé Rapp and Chappell Roan. “Reneé has this really beautiful confidence of knowing exactly who the f*** she is. It’s inspiring to see women be exactly who they are, and still be so supportive.”
