On Saturday, October 12, Ariana Grande will return to host Saturday Night Live (SNL), marking her second time as host since 2016, when she also served as the musical guest.

SNL kicked off its 50 season on September 28, announcing its highly anticipated lineup of hosts and musical guests. According to NBC News, the singer’s hosting gig comes ahead of the release of her movie Wicked, which is set to hit theaters on November 22. In a promo for this week’s episode, Grande is seen in a pitch meeting with SNL cast members Devon Walker, Michael Longfellow, Marcello Hernández, and Andrew Dismukes. Grande lays down a clear rule amid the brainstorming session: “No sketches about Wicked or The Wizard of Oz,” as reported by Deadline.

Adding to the excitement, music icon Stevie Nicks will perform as the musical guest, marking her second appearance on SNL since 1983.

Grande, a frequent SNL guest, last appeared as the musical guest in March following the release of her album Eternal Sunshine. During that episode, hosted by Josh Brolin, she even participated in a few skits, including a memorable Moulin Rouge parody with Bowen Yang.

Grande is one of many stars set to host this season, with other notable names including Jean Smart, Nate Bargatze, John Mulaney, and Michael Keaton. Musical performances will also feature Billie Eilish, Jelly Roll, and Coldplay, among others.
