Classy but Affordable, Take a Look at the New Cult Gaia and Gap Collab
This fall Cult Gaia and Gap have teamed up for an effortlessly chic collection, proving good looks do not have to break the bank.
Although recently joining forces creatively, both brands have come a long way within the fashion industry; here’s a little background. Cult Gaia’s CEO, Jasmin Larian Hekmat, stated in an interview with Forbes, “As a kid, my mom and I would collect these gorgeous vintage fabrics that someday, I knew I’d use to help create and inspire a line of my own.”
Hekmat has been plotting to share and spread her creativity as she grew up. Studying in New York led the designer to indulge in hobbies like flower crown making. Eventually, this hobby expanded into the Cult Gaia we know and love today.
Gap is a veteran brand founded in 1969. Don & Doris opened its first location in San Francisco to make the search for jeans a more leisurely journey; however, what started as a simple idea has now resulted in a family of brands. Presently, Gap owns three brands, including Old Navy, Banana Republic, and Athleta, offering versatility in clothing.
Both brands have succeeded, allowing this collaboration to come to fruition. Simultaneously and secretly, this brand shocked all the girls. In Gap’s announcement statement, Hekmat states, “Reimagining Gap’s classic icons through Cult Gaia’s lens has been an amazing journey.” Both brands saw an opportunity to bring “together Gap’s classics and everyday wearability with Cult Gaia’s sculptural and artistic approach, merging our two distinct creative forces.”
Having designed 35 pieces for women and kids, it’s notable that these brands worked together to bring the best of both worlds. The launch includes various items, from coats and sweatshirts to dresses and denim, with colors giving the ultimate fall vibes. Pieces range from green and brown to yellow and red. Undoubtedly, you won’t find a piece that feels elegant and comfy.
