A New Trailer for Dune: Prophecy Just Dropped
A new trailer for Dune: Prophecy has just been released, offering more than just glimpses of threatening forces and power struggles.
In this exciting new MAX original, fans will once again step into the sandy plains of Arrakis. The series follows two Harkonnen sisters and traces the origin of the Bene Gesserit, also known as the Sisterhood. Set 10,000 years before the birth of Paul Atreides, the sisters face looming threats to humankind.
The series presents the Harkonnen family through a fresh perspective, set long before the events that shaped the infamous Harkonnens seen in the Dune films. Fans eagerly anticipate witnessing the beginnings of the legendary feud with the Atreides family.
The first official trailer was released on October 17 during the series’ panel at New York Comic Con. The panel included seven actors from the series, featuring The Sixth Sense actress Olivia Williams and British star Emily Watson. Along with the trailer debut, the official premiere date was revealed as November 17.

The star-studded cast also includes Mark Strong as Emperor Javicco Corrino, who delivers a menacing warning about the dire consequences awaiting Arrakis in the three-minute trailer. Other notable cast members include Josh Heuston, Jade Anouka, Travis Fimmel, Jodhi May, Chris Mason, Faoileann Cunningham, and more.
Adapted from Sisterhood of Dune, written by Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson, this prequel was filmed in Budapest, Hungary, and Jordan. In addition to the breathtaking landscapes showcased in the trailer, the series features strikingly realistic CGI. Greg Fraser, the Australian cinematographer known for his work on the Dune films, shared insights on how Unreal Engine was used to plan and design specific shots, including scenes based on the position of the sun and the shadows it cast.

This blend of CGI and on-location filming creates an expansive, immersive experience that captures the essence of Herbert’s universe without relying solely on digital effects.
With six episodes set to air weekly, Dune: Prophecy will premiere at 9 p.m. on November 17. The series has already generated significant buzz and, with its stunning visuals, is poised to captivate both longtime fans and newcomers to the Dune universe.
Viewers are eager to return to Arrakis and explore the complex world that Frank Herbert so masterfully created. Watch the official trailer here.
