Actor Timothée Chalamet shocked fans by appearing at the Timothée Chalamet Lookalike Competition in New York City. The contest took place on October 27 in Washington Square Park which was met with a major turnout.

Competing for the grand prize of $50, competitors were presented before the crowd one by one and showed up in their best Chalamet-inspired looks. The contest had been teased for months on social media and flyers posted around the city, but fans of the actor did not expect him to be at the event.

He made time in his busy schedule to surprise fans and contestants alike, appearing at the contest and standing in the crowd. The actor’s fans were shocked and took to social media to express their excitement over his arrival.

The following day, the contest was revealed to be set up by YouTuber Anthony Po, known for his elaborate pranks and for limiting his content to short windows, originally setting out to no longer post after his college graduation. Po was also behind the New York Cheeseball Man, a masked figure that invited hundreds to watch him eat an entire tub of cheeseballs. The Cheeseball Man took to the streets in April for the event and promised to return on April 27, 2025, with an even larger container of cheeseballs to consume in front of his fans.

Shortly after the Chalamet contest, flyers for a Jeremy Allen White lookalike contest were spotted around the city. The advertisements promised a grand prize of two packs of cigarettes and a seven-day metro card. The contest will take place on November 17, in Washington Square Park.

The actor has been busy with his upcoming film A Complete Unknown. The film is set to be released on December 25 and features the story of the early days of Bob Dylan’s career. Chalamet stars as the singer, with Elle Fanning joining the cast as Sylvie Russo. He is currently filming his next project Marty Supreme, starring in the titular role.

Chalamet fans can catch the actor in A Complete Unknown this December, and stream his other recent projects, Dune: Part One and Dune: Part Two on MAX.
