From pop star to screenwriter, Halsey teams up with Ti West for Bloodlust, a dark comedy series coming to Prime Video.

Halsey has another trick up her sleeve. After the release of her fifth studio album, The Great Impersonator, she’s now channeling her creativity into screenwriting. She will serve as creator, writer, and executive producer. The singer-songwriter will be working alongside Ti West, whom she has previously worked with on MaXXXine.

He will direct and executive produce with Mark Friedman who will work as an executive producer and showrunner. Anthony Li, Halsey’s manager, will also hop on the project as an executive producer.

“very excited to embark on this journey with some of the best people that I know. more to say later. for now, there’s work to do,” stated Halsey in an Instagram post. Li also shared on social media, admiring “Ash,” Halsey’s nickname for her birth name, Ashley Frangipane.

“our favorite secret project isn’t a secret anymore. endlessly proud of you ash, the best writer & story teller (any format) i’ve ever met,” he captioned. “this is gonna be so much fun!!! thank you mark, ti, talia & amazon for wanting to make this with us!”

Aside from MaXXXine, Halsey has an impressive list of acting credits. Other than If I Can’t Have Love, I Want Power, which is a self-written film experience, the musician has appeared in A Star Is Born, Scooby-Doo and Guess Who?, Americana, and Teen Titans Go! To the Movies.

Amazon MGM Studios will be producing the dark comedy series. However, the plot and release date have yet to be revealed. According to Variety, the project had “been in development at Amazon for some time with Halsey, Li, and Friedman attached, but no details had emerged until now.” Other than the title and production, everything is still left unknown.
