Selena Gomez earns two Golden Globe nominations in a single year, becoming the second Latina actress in the award’s history to achieve this milestone, following Raquel Welch.

Gomez received her Golden Globe nominations for both television and film, earning Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy Series for her role as Mabel in the Hulu hit Only Murders in the Building and Best Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture for her portrayal of Jessi in the critically acclaimed film Emilia Pérez, which is making waves this awards season.

The actress shared a tearful, heartfelt clip on Instagram reacting to her nominations, expressing gratitude and celebrating her co-star Zoe Saldaña, who also received a nomination.

“I don’t even know what to write, I’m so proud of @zoesaldana and I’m so grateful and honored @goldenglobes,” Gomez captioned her video.

Emilia Pérez, directed by French filmmaker Jacques Audiard, emerged as the most nominated film at the Golden Globes with over 10 nods, earning recognition across multiple acting categories and for directing, screenwriting, and music. Meanwhile, Gomez’s hit TV series Only Murders in the Building ranked second among television shows, securing four nominations.

‘‘I’ve been very strategic and trying my hardest to pick projects that are going to be compelling and not necessarily what people would envision me doing. That’s something I get a high off of,” the actress shared with The Hollywood Reporter.

Fans celebrated the star’s achievement, praising her double nominations across two categories.

The mogul is successfully balancing her $2 billion makeup empire while pursuing her passion for acting, achieving remarkable milestones alongside some of Hollywood’s biggest stars.

The 2025 Golden Globes will air on January 5 at 8:00 P.M. on CBS.
