Tyla’s “Push 2 Start” Gearing Up To Become A New Hit
Tyla’s “Push 2 Start” has made it’s debut on the Spotify Global Chart, two months after it’s release.
The South African star released “Push 2 Start” as the lead single from the Tyla+ deluxe album, which dropped in October as an extension of her successful self-titled debut.

Tyla has been actively promoting the track, performing it at high-profile events like the MTV EMAs and the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. She also unveiled a music video for the single, which garnered significant attention for its nostalgic Y2K aesthetic and its resemblance to Rihanna’s iconic “Shut Up and Drive” music video.
Since the release of its music video, “Push 2 Start” has been steadily gaining traction. The song recently broke onto the Spotify Global Chart, achieving it’s biggest streaming day yet with 1.3 million streams, and the numbers keep growing. On December 10, it became Tyla’s most-streamed song on Spotify, surpassing her breakout hit “Water,” which holds the record as the most-streamed solo track in Spotify history by an African artist.
Thanks to its captivating choreography, “Push 2 Start” is also going viral on TikTok, with 478,000 videos featuring users recreating the dance. Tyla’s own video performing the routine has garnered an impressive 1.9 million likes, signaling strong public enthusiasm for what could be her next big hit.
Tyla’s exceptional performance skills have earned her the title of GQ South Africa‘s Entertainer of the Year, an accomplishment she’s earned following this year of musical success.
