Billie Eilish Delivers Beautiful Performance on NPR’s Tiny Desk
Billie Eilish and Finneas perform fan-favorite hits in their NPR Tiny Desk Concert, delivering a mesmerizing and captivating set.
In 2020, the two performed a Tiny Desk concert in her home due to COVID-19. They made do with a white desk under the piano, setting up their equipment, and making the background resemble the real NPR office as similar as possible. Four years later, they finally performed in front of a live audience, with their band, at the real Tiny Desk.
She performed her most popular songs on her latest album, Hit Me Hard and Soft, which were “THE GREATEST,” “L’AMOUR DE MA VIE,” and “BIRDS OF A FEATHER.” However, fans were quite taken aback when they heard “i love you,” a song on Eilish’s debut album, WHEN WE ALL FALL ASLEEP, WHERE DO WE GO?
After performing the first song of the concert, “THE GREATEST,” the singer tells the audience, “This is nerve-wracking for me…This is so cool. “I’ve wanted to do this like my whole life, so I’m a little shaky,” she adds. “I’m really excited to be here, and you’re all so beautiful, so thanks for watching and having me.”

After passionately performing “L’AMOUR DE MA VIE,” she pauses to speak with the audience before announcing the next song she would be singing, “i love you.” “We’re gonna do an old one now,” she states. “This is, like, one of our favorite songs that we’ve written,” she explains, mentioning the duo wrote it when she was 16 and Finneas was 21. “It was the first time I fell in love, it was very scary, and it’s funny how that fear never goes away—the feeling of falling or whatever.”
Once “i love you” ended, she introduced the band, acknowledging that the following song, “BIRDS OF A FEATHER,” went to number one. The song hit the top on both the Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excl. U.S. charts in August. It also received three nominations for the upcoming 67 Annual Grammy Awards for Best Pop Solo Performance, Song of the Year, and Record of the Year.
There’s no doubt her performance was a success, as the concert ended with an immense roar from the audience. With Billie Eilish being the only person named Apple’s Artist of the Year twice at only 22 years old, it’s clear she is truly one for the history books.
