Wicked: Part Two Officially Titled Wicked: For Good
Ahead of its 2025 release, the official title for the second Wicked film in the sequel has been revealed, and it will now be known as Wicked: For Good.
Fans no longer have to call the second Wicked film Wicked: Part Two. The official title was unveiled on social media as Wicked: For Good, which is expected to be released on November 21, 2025, a year after the first film’s debut. “For Good” is the penultimate song during the second act of the original Broadway musical.
The film’s second act will resemble the original Broadway production, which answers the cliffhangers viewers were left with. Jon M. Chu, the director behind the films, described the second part as “a doozy.” “You’re getting the meat. I did not know the context of where we’d be in society right now,” stated the director in an interview with Variety. “It becomes eight times more relevant than before when you’re talking about truth and consequences of making the right or wrong choices. It’s intense.” Wicked: For Good will also have two new original songs added to the soundtrack, confirmed by Stephen Schwartz, the original musical composer and lyricist for the Broadway show.
Wicked earned $114 million at the box office with just its opening weekend. Almost a month after its release, Wicked has reached a whopping $525 million worldwide and still has the possibility to beat the highest-grossing movie-musical film worldwide, Mamma Mia!, with $611.5 million.
Wicked has received two Golden Globe nominations for Cinematic and Box Office Achievement and Best Motion Picture. Erivo is nominated for Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Motion Picture, and Grande is a nominee for Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role in any Motion Picture.

Seeing these numbers, there is no doubt Wicked: For Good will pass the first film’s box office numbers. The new title’s announcement already has fans full of anticipation, counting down the days to November 21, 2025.
