Superman fans, rejoice. Directed by James Gunn, the upcoming film will usher in the new DC Studios universe. The first official teaser trailer is set to release this Thursday.

Yesterday, DC Studios gave fans an exclusive sneak peek at one of its highly anticipated projects. While Superman won’t soar into theaters until July 11, 2025, this glimpse is already setting the stage for a completely new era of superheroes. David Corenswet will be the latest actor to wear the iconic red cape and boots, reportedly even requesting the inclusion of the classic red trunks for his version of the supersuit.

The film has also undergone a subtle title change. Previously titled Superman: Legacy, it will now simply be called Superman. While the adjustment may seem minor, the story is set several years into Clark Kent’s career as the red-caped hero, as he faces off against some of his most formidable foes. Nicholas Hoult will step into the role of Lex Luthor, the iconic evil genius and business mogul who has become one of Superman’s most infamous adversaries across various media.

Alongside the poster reveal, DC Studios announced that the film’s first teaser trailer will debut on December 19 at 6 a.m. Pacific Standard Time. To build anticipation, the announcement was accompanied by a mini pre-teaser trailer focusing on the iconic Superman logo, followed by the tagline “Look Up.” The unexpected release of this teaser has fans buzzing with excitement.

The teaser trailer’s reveal also offered a snippet of Superman’s new theme. While different from past iterations, the score combines elements of John Williams’ and Hans Zimmer’s iconic compositions, embodying themes of hope, compassion, and bravery synonymous with the “Man of Steel.” With recent teases, including Superman sitting alongside his loyal dog Krypto, fan anticipation is sure to skyrocket once the official trailer is released this week.
