During an interview with E News’ Zuri Hall, Brody stated, “It’s more than a happy accident, but it wasn’t that premeditated either. We both chose what we wanted, and what we wanted was to go together.”
When asked if they would work together soon, Brody told Hall, “We don’t have a dream project,” but noted, “We always like to work together when it comes up.” The Gossip Girl alum added, “It comes up a lot.” The couple has appeared together in The Oranges, Single Parents, and River Wild.
“It’s true,” Brody continued. “Almost everything we do, they’re like, ‘Would your husband or wife want to be in this as well?”
The actor’s leading lady in the series, Kristen Bell, also nabbed a Best Actress nomination in the adjacent category, while the show also earned Best Television Series—Musical or Comedy. Brody could not help but be happy after hearing this news.
“I’m ecstatic to hear about all the show’s nominations this morning,” Brody commented. “It’s an absolute joy to work with this phenomenal group of people on something we all care about so much. And it’s beyond gratifying to see that audiences are enjoying it as much as we are.”
