Zendaya Models New Louis Vuitton’s Takashi Murakami Re-Edition Line
Since 2023, Zendaya has served as a house ambassador for Louis Vuitton. In their latest campaign, the actress and model was photographed by the iconic duo Inez Van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin.
In the campaign, the Euphoria star showcases several standout items from the collection, including the All-in BB, Speedy 25, and Capucines Mini bags. The re-edition line also features Monogram Mules, Bandeau silk scarves, and Louis Vuitton leather belts, offering a mix of vibrant accessories and timeless pieces.
The collection revives the luxury brand’s iconic collaboration with Takashi Murakami from the early 2000s, infusing a fresh perspective into beloved classics. Signature pieces like the Speedy Bandoulière, criss-cross card holder, and Sunset Flat comfort sandals get a colorful update. Fans of playful charms, bright colors, and vivid imagery will find plenty to love in this re-edition.
The concept behind the new collection is to appeal to the next generation of fashion enthusiasts. Louis Vuitton’s Chief Executive Officer Pietro Beccari explains, “There are a plurality of reasons and decisions that went into this re-edition. I must say that we also came back to the subject with Takashi because we had noticed the wild rise of the vintage and secondhand market. Celebrities were spontaneously wearing colorful pieces, regularly bringing them back out of their wardrobes with a great deal of pride.”
Murakami expressed his delight at having the Emmy-winning Zendaya as the face of the campaign, “It’s like what I had imagined back then: the children seeing that collaboration in anime, growing up with them, have now become the new fans of the brand. That’s what I was hoping for, and it’s becoming a reality, so I’m really glad.”
Fans can also look forward to a second part of the campaign debuting this spring, featuring a Cherry Blossom theme. This extension will include the Papillon bags, platform sandals, and the Courrier Lozine 110 Fleurs trunk, bringing even more vibrant designs to the collection.
