According to PEOPLE, an unnamed woman identified as Jane Doe has filed a lawsuit accusing Combs of sexually assaulting her in 2000 when she was a 16-year-old high school student.

The complaint alleges that Jane Doe, who lived with her parents in Lower Manhattan at the time, worked as a babysitter in the same apartment building where Combs’ then-partner resided. The plaintiff states she encountered Combs and two of his associates one evening, during which he repeatedly offered her a ride home. After declining several times, she says she eventually got into his car.

Once inside, the plaintiff claims her alarm grew when the car did not take her home. Instead, she alleges she was offered a drink to “calm her down.” She describes the beverage as making her feel “groggy” and “unsteady.” She further claims that Combs and his employees took her to another location, where the alleged assault occurred. Following the incident, she states she was left in the lobby of her apartment building.

This case adds to a mounting list of legal troubles for Combs, who has been named in over 30 lawsuits accusing him of sexual misconduct. The plaintiff is suing for unspecified damages, citing ongoing financial losses, physical injuries, pain, and severe emotional distress as a result of the alleged assault.

Combs is currently incarcerated at MDC Brooklyn on charges including racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking by force, fraud, or coercion, and transporting individuals for prostitution. He has denied all charges. His legal team has strongly denied all allegations. In a statement shared with PEOPLE, his attorneys stated,

“No matter how many lawsuits are filed, it won’t change the fact that Mr. Combs has never sexually assaulted, or sex trafficked anyone—man or woman, adult or minor. We live in a world where anyone can file a lawsuit for any reason. Fortunately, a fair and impartial judicial process exists to find the truth, and Mr. Combs is confident he will prevail in court.”
