Brody Jenner speaks about his relationship with Caitlyn Jenner on reality series Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test, sharing the reality star recently apologized for abandoning him.

Reflecting on his childhood, Brody shared that he had an incredible mother, his father, Bruce, was not very present at the time. After his parents split, his father met someone who already had children—Kim, Kourtney, Khloé, and Rob Kardashian—and later had more children together, Kendall and Kylie Jenner.

When asked how he felt about Caitlyn spending so much time with the Kardashians filming their long-running series, Brody recalled, “To be honest, a little bit abandoned.” He also noted that Caitlyn was going through her struggles “transitioning and it was all that was put on TV.”

“Just recently, I got a real, sincere apology,” he added. “It was the first time in my life that I’ve ever gotten an apology. You know, I’m sorry for not being there, and honestly, it meant a lot.”

In a confessional on Special Forces, Brody explained, “When I found out that Caitlyn, or Bruce, wanted to be Caitlyn, it was sort of a relief. I think that there were a lot of things that started to make sense, you know, just in my life, about my father, and maybe why he wasn’t there all those years.”

He explained that having kids comes with a responsibility to recognize that your actions can impact them. This realization has influenced him to approach things differently and prioritize being present for his daughter, Honey, whom he welcomed with fiancée Tia Blanco in July 2023..

This has inspired him to approach life differently, prioritizing intentionality and presence, particularly when it comes to his daughter. By recognizing the importance of being fully engaged in her life, he has embraced a deeper commitment to being a supportive and attentive parent.

Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test airs Wednesdays at 8 p.m. ET on Fox.
