Comedian and former Daily Show host Trevor Noah will return to host the 67 Annual Grammy Awards for his fifth consecutive year.

The devastating California fires are not postponing the event, as the Recording Academy announced the show must go on. Other major events were either canceled or postponed amidst the disasters, leaving thousands of residents with no homes.

The production will have a change of heart by fundraising to support wildlife relief efforts and honor the heroic first responders.

“The 67 Annual Grammy Awards will carry a renewed sense of purpose: raising additional funds to support wildfire relief efforts and honoring the bravery and dedication of first responders who risk their lives to protect ours,” CBS mentioned in a statement.

Noah’s whimsical attitude has increased the show’s rating, scoring a successful win for CBS throughout the time he has hosted. This past year, viewership increased to 34% from 2023, receiving nearly 17 million viewers.

The comedian told The Hollywood Reporter his reasoning for returning every year.

“Moments that you have backstage with the performers — you’re just walking around and you’re seeing Billie Eilish and she’s having a moment with another artist — you don’t get to see that anywhere else, and you don’t get to experience that level of joy. For me to be part of that is truly, I guess now, it’s a three times a lifetime opportunity,” he explained. “I never take it for granted because all of these people are the soundtracks to our lives.”

The ceremony is scheduled to air on Sunday, February 2, from 8:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m., live from the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles and streaming on CBS.
