Nick Mohammed postponed several scheduled series to film another project, and fans are speculating that it is Ted Lasso.

In an Instagram post, Mohammed shared that he had to change certain dates for his live show, Show Pony, because he had another project he had to film.

“I cannot say what the filming is,” Mohammed stated, “but it will be announced shortly.”

Fans in the comment section of the post speculated that the project might be connected to Apple TV+’s hit drama, Ted Lasso.

Mohammed included the hashtag “Ted Lasso” in the caption, fueling speculation.

Mohammed was also seen holding a yellow sign with the word “Believe” written across the page, which is another direct reference to the series.

“In the meantime, I would really appreciate if people just didn’t speculate as to what they think it might be,” Mohammed stated.

People have been quick to react to Mohammed’s statement in the comments.

“The Nate hair is on… #Believe,” one fan commented. Another fan said, “Smells like potential!”

Bill Lawrence, the co-creator of the series, told People that the return of the series depended mainly on Jason Sudeikis. Sudeikis portrayed Ted Lasso, the head coach of AFC Richmond.

Ted Lasso first premiered in August 2020 and has gained noteworthy attention since. According to Variety, the series has amassed about 25 billion minutes of viewing since its release.

The Apple TV+ show and its cast members received 246 award nominations and collected 94 wins according to IMDb. These awards include Critics Choice Awards, Golden Globes, Emmys, and more.

The season 3 finale, titled So Long, Farewell, aired in May 2023.

Sudeikis told Entertainment Weekly in 2021 that the story was written to be told within the three seasons.

“The story being told – that three-season arc – is one that I see, know, and understood,” Sudeikis stated. “As far as what happens after that, who knows?”

Brendan Hunt, who portrays Coach Beard, told Entertainment Weekly that three seasons is what the series was meant for. However, he also shared that the overwhelming popularity of the series could possibly change that plan at some point.

“I think it would be pretty cool if, in the face of how much everyone likes this show, that we stick to our guns and really just do three seasons,” Hunt stated. “But even as committed to that idea as Jason may have been, none of us were prepared to the degree to which people love this show.”

In August, People confirmed that the series was in talks of a possible return for season 4, but there hasn’t been word since.

As fans eagerly await more news, Mohammed’s cryptic hints have sparked renewed hope for more from the beloved series.

Seasons 1-3 of Ted Lasso are available on Apple TV+.
